Fiji sucker punch Aussies to win in Singapore

Australia have suffered a heart-breaking loss to Fiji in the final of the Singapore rugby Sevens, conceding a long-range try after the full-time siren to lose 28-22.

A third Fiji try after half-time from Jerry Tuwai looked to have put the islanders out of sight, but Australia fought back valiantly once again, Brandon Quinn and John Porch putting them 22-21 in front before the post-buzzer drama.

The Australians thought they had secured victory when they scored off the final kick-off but the referee ruled they had knocked the ball on, giving the flamboyant Fijians a scrum on their own line and one last chance to snatch victory, which they took full advantage of.
