Ambien Maker Torches Roseanne Barr For Blaming Racist Tweet On Insomnia Drug

Ambien Maker Torches Roseanne Barr For Blaming Racist Tweet On Insomnia Drug

Several networks said it was removing reruns of her show. "This isn't new behavior for her".

Barr tweeted that what she did was unforgiveable and urged supporters not to defend her. The deleted tweet also announced she plans to appear on Joe Rogan's podcast on Friday.

HollywoodLife learned EXCLUSIVELY that Roseanne believes she's being "misunderstood", but her tweets aren't helping. Yes, I have had odd ambien experiences on tweeting late at night-like many other ppl do. Barr followed that up with "not giving excuses for what I did (tweeted) but I've done weird stuff while on ambien - cracked eggs on the wall at 2am etc".

Her tone turned after that saying she was both sorry for her tweet, but that she would also defend herself to her followers, "so, go away if u don't like it". "You don't have to look in the faces of those you're attacking", she said. That tweet was later deleted too. "He said he had zero tolerance for that sort of racist, bigoted comment and he wanted me to know before he made it public that he was canceling his show and so I appreciate that they did that so swiftly".

Michael Fishman, who started working with Barr when he was just six, was the first to feel the wrath of the show's creator after he released a statement criticizing her racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett. "No, but thanks for your support", she told the Twitter user.

Barr, 65, then apologized "for making a bad joke" about Jarrett, who is black and was born in Iran to American parents.

Earlier in the day, Barr sparked backlash when she tweeted, "Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj".

She also said she had been on Ambien, a medication used to treat insomnia, at the time. "It's all ok", she wrote. "I gave them the weapon to kill me-I was not equipped to take all the heat".

The reboot of "Roseanne" has been a blockbuster hit for ABC, but that did not stop ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey from canceling the show.

"Oh man this is just the best, @therealroseanne is now defending her tweets by saying Ambien made her racist?"
