Jurgen Klopp says Real Madrid will be more prepared than Liverpool

A number of the players featured in the Europa League final defeat to Sevilla two years ago but the clash in Kiev is on a much bigger scale.

UEFA may have accidentally revealed Jurgen Klopp and Zinedine Zidane's starting XIs and formations before the Champions League final.

Marc Mayo: If this game is to unfold as the "you score five, we score six" affair that seems nearly inevitable, Madrid will need every bit of firepower they possess out on the pitch.

There is no doubt about Cristiano Ronaldo's position in the Real Madrid team to face Liverpool, but who will line up alongside the Portuguese forward in Kiev?

"We have to make it as hard as possible for them". I think it is obvious we are back, " said Klopp.

In 1998, Karembeu was part of the Madrid team that triumphed in the Champions League for the first time since 1966 - against Zidane's Juventus, no less.

Klopp has the chance to become only the fourth manager in the club's long history to win a European Cup, following in the hallowed footsteps of Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan and Rafael Benitez. By beating them we got some confidence and trust between us to achieve something Madrid had been expecting for 32 years.

Liverpool have lost their two previous finals under Klopp and Wijnaldum admits it is hurdle they must overcome but feels the general progress being made is equally important.

Curiously, Liverpool and Real Madrid have already met once in a European Cup final, with the Reds winning 1-0 thanks to a late goal from Alan Kennedy in 1981.

"This club gives you the power, the players, the teams, that you can win from time to time big things". And we're going to have to put on a huge display if we are to win. He told Onda Cero's El Transistor programme how he started working as Salah's physio: "Mohamed had a couple of fitness problems - quite minor ones but I suggested that he try my dry needling technique, and since then he's been delighted to see his problems go".

Don't fear the prospect of a Champions League final and instead look at it as a night when your career can be defined, the one game that can turn you into a hero forever more.

"The road to Kiev has been fantastic and what's exciting about this is that I think we deserve to be in the final".

"But very often in these games when it starts the nerves get the better of you and you start off not wanting to make mistakes".

Juve were the favourites and we knew that we needed to upgrade our level to go against them and win.

Klopp agreed that his job in the build-up has mainly involved taking the pressure off his players, and that meant playing down suggestions that this was Salah's chance to break up Lionel Messi and Ronaldo's grip on the Ballon d'Or.
