Mauricio Pochettino shock: Chelsea keen on Tottenham boss as Antonio Conte replacement

He added: "In general I think we did enough to achieve minimum one point".

"We dominated and created many chances but we scored only one goal, and in the final Swansea had the chance to draw".

Whilst Tottenham and Chelsea battle it out for fourth place in the Premier League, they could both still miss out on Champions League football next season should Liverpool and Arsenal win their respective European competitions. Eden Hazard found Fabregas unmarked in the penalty area and the Spanish midfielder curled a shot past goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

Suddenly, Chelsea looked more vulnerable, but Swansea have struggled to score goals all season.

"It is something very positive if we play like that under pressure, the pressure is welcome because we play in a good way to stay in the division".

He explained: "We have been winning games, not comfortably, and that is the most important thing". Speaking toSky Sports Wise said that Chelsea needs some spine on the field for the 2018-19 season, "Chelsea doesn't have a core down the middle that you want in your team, and they don't have a tough leader to sort the dressing room out". We've got to try and win every game until the rest of the season.

Swansea still have to play the two teams directly below them in Southampton and Stoke at home, but first they travel to Bournemouth. Manager Carlos Carvalhal is full of confidence - privately, he told friends he expected to beat Chelsea on Saturday - and that is reflected in the manner of players and supporters.

While Chelsea could have been more than a goal clear at the break, Swansea responded well in the second half and went close through Andre Ayew, Kyle Naughton, Tom Carroll and Wayne Routledge in the final quarter.

"I saw it", Carvalhal said.

"I have to admit that I don't get nervous anymore", Fabregas said.

Antonio Conte's men will need to win their remaining three games and hope their rivals stumble on the way to secure a Champions League ticket for next season.
