With AP Photos.A commercial dispute between Mohammed Salah and football authorities in his native Egypt has been swiftly resolved following top-level political intervention.

Premier League leading scorer Mohamed Salah said Sunday he was insulted over the unauthorised use of his image and blamed the Egyptian Football Association in a dispute that comes less than two months before the World Cup in Russian Federation.

MOHAMED SALAH clinched the PFA Player of the Year award last night.

The "Egyptian king" also won the Professional Footballers' Association player of the year award in April.

On Saturday, Abbas tweeted, "We have not even been contacted for a resolution!"

Egypt's Minister of Sports and Youth Khaled Abdel Aziz said that he plans to intervene to try and resolve the issue with the World Cup looming. I was hoping the interaction would be classier than this, ' Salah tweeted. He added, "Salah is an example to follow for all Egyptian youth. he loves his country, a honest and a flawless representative for Egypt in Europe".

The FA have been alerted to social media clips of the incident, in which the Egyptian superstar appears to flail a balled hand at Stoke's Dutch defender near the half-way line. He stated that "we will all stand beside him to implement all the contracts he signed in England so that he does not face any problems".

The dispute erupts two months before Egypt open their World Cup campaign with a match against Uruguay, ending their 28-year wait for a place in the world's most prestigious football tournament.

"Never mind about Twitter and focus on the next match (in Rome)", Egyptian comedian Mohamed Henedy tweeted in response, "and I promise you we will create a whole new Twitter for you, not just a hashtag".
