Mourinho wants more quality players at Manchester United

Jose Mourinho has demonstrated his continued trust in versatile Manchester United player Ashley Young by backing the 32-year-old to play up to 50 matches next season.

"David de Gea will be rested, it gives a chance for Sergio Romero to play".

The Portuguese, who could yet lift a second trophy in as many seasons with the FA Cup and yield United's highest league finish in five years, admits there are players in his group that he does not believe can make it at the club.

Meanwhile, Mourinho said that the United squad needs improvement in the off-season, and that current squad members need to be "more consistent" and show "more quality" on the pitch.

"That's his job now to bridge that gap by using his expertise, whichever players he thinks can do that and he also touched on that bringing player after player in and shipping player after player out - that doesn't work".

These big games can tell Mourinho a lot about his team and give him an indication of which players will be fit for the challenge of next season.

Pogba went on to add that it would be an honor for him to lead Manchester United as he was a product of their academy, "It's good that the manager believes in you, and the players".

The Welshman is a completely different player to Mata, but what Mourinho wants is another physical force flanking Romelu Lukaku that can dovetail with Alexis Sanchez, and Los Blancos star fits the bill perfectly.

'Unless there is a ideal squad where you buy one goalkeeper, you don't like and you buy another one.

No United player has featured more regularly under Mourinho than Rashford, who has appeared in 102 of the team's 117 competitive matches as both a starter and substitute. "So in this moment, for me, he is staying".

Mourinho will be determined that his side does not suffer another defeat, following last weekend's with the Seagulls and will be telling his players to do all they can to ensure they get the three points on the night.

We'll file this one in the "we'll be keeping an eye on this" section of our archives, mostly because it's Le10 and we don't recommend getting excited about anything they say. "When you lose against all the teams that were promoted, that doesn't smell right for me".
