Pickup truck hits Southwest Airlines' plane on BWI runway Monday morning

The flight in question - flight 6263 - had flown in from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and had landed on the runway at Maryland at 12:10 a.m. EDT when the incident occurred.

With this new service addition, Southwest fulfills a major expansion announced last August for SJC that brings 80 added weekly flights this spring.

A representative for Southwest Airlines said an instrument inside the cockpit indicated that one of the plane's flaps had possibly not extended all the way. "We will do our best to get you going asap". There are no injuries and the 172 passengers are deplaning via airstairs.

Oakland International Airport has been chosen by Southwest Airlines as one of the first U.S. Mainland airports to begin Southwest's nonstop service to Hawaii, officials with the Port of Oakland, which manages the airport, said.

The airline said it didn't have any additional information about what caused the crash or how the driver was doing.

The airline worked quickly to accommodate all 103 passengers inside the plane in order to avoid any further delays, according to the airline's spokesperson.

"We're so sorry for the trouble tonight in Baltimore".
