SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket launch successful

Falcon 9 took off from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Fla., at 4:15 p.m. Flight controllers watched as the rocket took off without a hitch, successfully completing each stage of the mission.

It is created to be capable of 10 or more flights with very limited refurbishment as SpaceX continues to strive for rapid reusability and extremely high reliability, according to SpaceX's news release.

Following stage separation, SpaceX will attempt to land Falcon 9's first stage on the "Of Course I Still Love You" droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

SpaceX has successfully landed its Falcon 9 Block 5, the rocket that will used to transport astronauts to the International Space Station. The nine Merlin engines in the rocket's first stage and the single "vacuum Merlin" in the second stage boast about 8 percent and 5 percent more thrust, respectively, than their counterparts in the Falcon 9 Block 4.

"It's really better in every way than the Block 4", Musk said, citing a range of upgrades from avionics to the thermal-protection sysem on the Block 5's first stage. SpaceX officials said the rocket's flight computer received an abort signal from its ground system, which turned out to be an "artifact" of an earlier test sequence that had not been properly reset.

The launch was another in a string of resounding successes for Musk's aerospace company, whose ability to pioneer new advances in space technology have stood in contrast to the production struggles of his electric vehicle company, Tesla.

While the concept of Digital Bangladesh has been realized through the progress we have been made in the ICT sector, creating IT parks and exporting software to the rest of the globe, the launch of Bangabandhu-1 takes our presence out into space. Musk said his engineering talent will now focus their resources on getting the BFR up and running, and eventually ferrying humans into space.

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina greeted the countrymen for successful launching of Bangladesh's first communication satellite into space, saying that it added a new milestone to the path of continued advancement of the country.

The Block 5 launch is expected to be the last major upgrade to a workhorse rocket. Within the next year, Chief Executive Elon Musk wants to fly the same rocket twice within a 24-hour period.

The satellite's coverage area includes Bangladesh and other countries, including India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Indonesia, according to a Thales statement.
