Suspect arrested after shots fired at Trump National Golf Resort

Cops dashed to Trump National Doral resort, near Miami, Florida. According to CBS News, they confirmed that no "protectees were in the Miami region at the time of the incident".

After exchanging fire with the suspect, officers were able to stop and apprehend the man.

They say he shouted information about President Trump, draped an American Flag over the counter and was actively shooting. The fire alarm has been set off, Perez believes in an attempt to lure police officers into the lobby.

The Trump National Doral, which includes several buildings for lodging and an expansive clubhouse, is among the largest hotels in the Miami suburb.

The Doral Resort & Spa was purchased by the Trump Organisation in 2012.

Its website describes it as an 800-acre resort with 643 total guest rooms, more than 100,000 square feet (9,300 square meters) of event space and four golf courses.

According to the White House's official schedule, Trump is in Washington all day on Friday.

Until a year ago, the World Golf Championship tournament had been at the resort since the 1960s.

Trump was not at the resort at the time. According to The Wall Street Journal, the president spent nearly one-third of of his first year in office at Trump-owned properties.

Perez stated the person was "yelling and spewing some details about President Trump".

This is a developing story.
