Trump's Anti-Semitic Faith Adviser To Speak At US Embassy Opening In Jerusalem

"Robert Jeffress says 'you can't be saved by being a Jew, ' and "Mormonism is a heresy from the pit of hell, '" Romney wrote". He's said the same about Islam.

A pastor who has been labeled a "bigot" for saying Jews will all go to hell and describing Islam as a religion that promotes pedophilia is set to speak at a ceremony acknowledging the relocation of the USA embassy to Jerusalem.

When Romney ran for president in 2012, Jeffress caused some controversy by claiming during the primaries that Christians shouldn't support Romney because Mormonism is a "cult".

Speaking on Fox News Radio, Jeffress said he had a specific plan for his prayer at the new embassy.

He's the clerical representative of that system.

The liberal group Media Matters reports on its website that Jeffress made the remarks cited by Romney in a 2011 speech at the conservative Values Voter Summit.

Utah Senate candidate Mitt Romney says a prominent Baptist minister shouldn't be giving the prayer that opens the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem because he's a "religious bigot".

In a 2010 Politically Incorrect lecture series, Jeffress is reported to have said: "God sends good people to Hell".

"Historical Christianity has taught for 2,000 years that salvation is through faith alone in Jesus Christ", Jeffress declared. "The truth that I, together with tens of hundreds of thousands of evangelical Christians all over the world, proceed to espouse that perception, is neither bigoted nor newsworthy".

The hate-filled pastor has also said the Catholic Church is following Satan's path and that Barack Obama was "paving the way" for the arrival of the antichrist. He said at the time, "The idea that Mormonism is a theological cult is not news either".

He told host Todd Starnes: "In that prayer, I'm going to be recounting God's history of faithfulness to His people, the Israelites". US President Donald J. Trump's administration will officially transfer the ambassador's offices to the consulate building and temporarily use it as the new US Embassy in Jerusalem as of 14 May 2018.
