Destiny 2 Forsaken Trailer Revealed, Overview of Year 2

You can check out the official reveal for the upcoming expansion below. It comes out on September 4.

One of the newest features is that players will be able to customize their own weapons, which can gain in strength and firepower over time. Upon arrival, you soon discover the most-wanted criminals in the Prison of Elders have organized an escape.

We get to see and hear about the Tangle Shore, the new "Gambit" mode that marries PvE and PvP together, and the Dreaming City, which is the homeland of the Awoken. The Dreaming City is a lovely location that is the home of the Awoken, a place that hides dark secrets and the expansions endgame activities like the new Raid.

Bungie recently invited a number of high-profile "Destiny" influencers to the studio to try out future content, and YouTuber Datto made it clear in a recent video that an entirely new mode is on the way. Activision confirms that Forsaken will have "highly anticipated changes and features such as a new weapon slot system, improvements to the mods system, and numerous other quality-of-life improvements".

Destiny still has the problem that new DLC splits the community into the haves and have-nots, but there will be other free additions coming on the same date, including more vault space, a return for power levels in Iron Banner and Trials, collection screens, in-game triumphs and lore sections, random weapon rolls, and the ability to delete more than one shader at once.

If all that's not enough, there are new Supers headed to Destiny 2 with Forsaken. Two-handed hammers for Titans, electric teleportation for Warlocks, and.

"Really what this partnership is about is bringing the expertise NetEase has, sharing ideas and allowing us to incubate new ideas", says Bungie CEO Pete Parsons to GamesIndustry.biz.

It's just a shame that, much like the original Destiny, we've had to wait a year for Bungie to potentially sort its game out. Two teams of four are separated into different areas, although they'll see each other at the start of a match to emote their hearts out.

The big reveal today, however, is the new Gambit mode, which blends PVE and PVP into a new style of competitive gameplay.

"Destiny 2: Forsaken" launches on September 4 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
