Liverpool FC closing in on second summer signing in £70m deal

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has not completely ruled out the possibility of holding on to Liverpool target Nabil Fekir beyond the summer transfer window.

Goal reported last week that Liverpool were ready to step up their pursuit of Fekir in a deal that could be worth £60 million (€69m/$80m).

Now, the Reds are believed to be closing in on a deal to bring Fekir to Anfield.

'Liverpool's interest exists, but for the moment nothing is done and other clubs could come in.

Liverpool have already moved quickly to strengthen their squad ahead of next season, with the £39million arrival of midfielder Fabinho from Monaco following on from the previously agreed £48million move for RB Leipzig's Naby Keita.

The Reds are reportedly chasing the French midfielder following his good season in Ligue 1 with Lyon which saw him score 18 goals and record eight assists to help them finish third.

According to Canal Plus' Romain Collet-Gaudin, the 24-year-old is expected to discuss the final detail of his proposed move to Anfield and a medical could soon follow with the Reds keen on wrapping the deal prior to the summer World Cup.

Speaking of defenders on the move, new Everton boss Marco Silva is determined to make Jamaal Lascelles his first signing at Goodison Park.

Meanwhile, Davy Klaasen appears to be on his way out of the Premier League as Sky Sportssuggests the Dutchman is likely to leave Everton in the summer just 12 months after arriving on Merseyside, with Turkish club Besiktas the probable destination.
