Millie Bobby Brown Deletes Twitter After Trolls Make Homophobic Memes

Millie Bobby Brown, 14, is most famous for her role as Eleven in Stranger Things.

In a frankly disturbing update from the Twitterverse, today Millie Bobby Brown has deactivated her Twitter account after becoming the target of a homophobic meme, which paints her as a discriminatory bully.

The joke was meant to contrast the clean-cut, wholesome nature of Millie Bobby Brown's work and image with the offensive texts, though given that Brown is a 14-year-old child, the joke has fallen flat.

Numerous tweets were linked to the hashtag #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown, which was first created by Twitter user @KelsFiona in November 2017.

Some of the memes have been attributed to members of the gay community who found them amusing.

Other users and those who participated in creating these memes claimed to have met the actress and, with seemingly no evidence, accused her of being violent toward LGBTQ fans.

Given that these memes run so counter to her beliefs, Millie Bobby Brown chose to delete her account entirely. With these fake images, she's being bullied, and her likeness is being used to cause pain to the LGBTQ community. The hashtag started making rounds in November 2017 but regained momentum lately.

The Stranger Things star wasn't the first celebrity to quit social media after experiencing bullying.

It was definitely a shock for her many followers considering that the celeb has been very active on social media lately.

Is there anything Melania Trump can do to help Millie Bobby Brown? The post has since been deleted.

They also put the word "faggot" in her mouth.
