Pixel 3 XL Leak Confirms Controversial Display Notch

Pixel 3 XL Leak Confirms Controversial Display Notch

For those of you who are fans of the feature, we have some good news-we have strong evidence that suggests it'll return on the Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL.

If these images are the real deal, what do you think of the upcoming Pixel 3 XL? Additionally, we can spot how the Pixel 3 XL prototype has a singe-lens camera, not as impressive as the dual-lens system found in Apple's devices. It's unclear why Google is continuing to use a single shooter, but the Pixel 2 XL takes great pictures, so one can only expect this device's camera module to be somewhat better. Additionally, you can see the power button and volume rocker that are in an nearly identical position as last year's and confirmation that Google will; unsurprisingly not be bringing back the headphone jack. We will have to wait for a while before Google announces Pixel 3. Basically, the components for Active Edge (Codenamed “Elmyra”) mention the Pixel 2 and 2 XLs codenames, but they also mention two more: crosshatch and blueline. It also looks like Google will continue with single rear camera at the back. In the notch, a speaker and two cameras set comfortably. It's just that this time around, the Google Pixel 3 will be manufactured by Foxconn.

On the back of the device is a regular fingerprint sensor.

This is easily the most exciting Pixel 3 leak we've seen to date, but again, it's unsubstantiated.

A Bloomberg report claims the notch at the top of the Pixel 3 XL will not be as wide as that on the iPhone X, but could be noticeably taller.

The volume rocker keys and power button will placed on the right side, like we saw on the Pixel 2 devices as we;;. The phone will not have an edge-to-edge screen or notch.

The images (above), which come courtesy of XDA Developers member meraz9000, show that Google's large-screened Android P flagship will follow the notch trend, with a chunky iPhone X-style cutout sat at the top of its display. Google is also said to be working on a third mid-segment Pixel smartphone, which is codenamed "Bonito".

As for specs, the Pixel 3 XL is expected to feature about the same specs and performance as every other Android flagship in 2018.
