Romelu Lukaku is now an injury doubt for England game

Lukaku and Eden Hazard both netted twice as the Red Devils routed Tunisia 5-2 in Moscow to leave them top of Group G and on the verge of the last 16.

"Some like him and some don't", he said.

Belgium were much the better team, looking unsafe on nearly every attack, but they were seriously aided and abetted by some ragged defending and non-existing marking from their opponents.

A polyglot known for waffles, chocolate and beer, the nation of 11 million hopes for soccer to join the national identity, boosted by a golden generation that includes Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bryune. The winning team has now scored eight goals in two games, as CGTN's Dan Williams reports.

Lukaku clipped a right-foot shot over advancing goalkeeper Farouk Ben Mustapha to match Cristiano Ronaldo on four goals as the tournament's leading scorer.

Tunisia captain Wahbi Khazri got his team's second with nearly the last kick of the match.

Belgium are beginning to look the part at this summer's World Cup, with another resounding victory over the Eagles of Carthage. "However, we did our best and we will try to improve our performance in the future".

Drogba told BBC that he worked with Lukaku at Chelsea on that technique as he went through on goal.

"It's not easy to score the amount of goals we did in two games", he said, recalling an opening 3-0 defeat of Panama.

The stretch of matches since they last lost goes back nearly two years to September 2016 and so breaking that sequence ahead of the first World Cup knockout match risks an unknown psychological impact.

It's not just Belgium's starting XI who have impressed. Substitute Michy Batshuayi made it a rout in stoppage time, and failed with three other good scoring chances.

"We have achieved our first goal, now we have to make sure that our team stays at its strongest, of course we want to do well against England, but our team must be equally strong after that match", the former Wigan and Everton boss commented.

The winners of the meeting in Kaliningrad are guaranteed to top the group, but if the match finishes as a draw the places will be decided first of all on fair play.

In the lead-up to the match, Lukaku had spoken of the pressure he felt in 2014 and said he planned to adopt a more carefree attitude in Russian Federation.

Training is conducted in English under Spanish coach Roberto Martinez, who spent a decade managing in England.
