Roseanne unleashes a rash of new tweets

Dungey, the first African-American to head programming at a major broadcast network, canceled her network's top-rated show of the 2017-18 TV season on Tuesday, "Roseanne", after racist tweets by the show's star, Roseanne Barr. And then they both agreed that they didn't want Mike Pence to become president.

In a tweet, Trump noted that Robert Iger, who is chief executive of ABC's parent Walt Disney Co., called Valerie Jarrett to say the network wouldn't tolerate Roseanne Barr's racist tweet about the former Obama adviser.

On Tuesday, Barr apologised to Mrs Jarrett and pledged to give up Twitter. "She's allowed to have an opinion but this was different ... this was untenable", the source said.

"It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far & do not want it defended-it was egregious Indefensible", she wrote.

Gilbert, who appeared in the series since it began in 1988 as Barr's on-screen daughter Darlene, had said she was "disappointed" by Barr's comments which "do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show".

She also apologised to "the hundreds of people and wonderful writers...and talented actors who lost their jobs on my show due to my stupid tweet".

The makers of Ambien are not taking Roseanne's bullshit.

It was something rare in today's USA entertainment: a depiction of an extended working class family, including supporters of President Trump.

Asked if that was a problem in her own family, Barr said, "We had some pro-Hillarys and some pro-Trump, and there was a lot of fightin'". "And I am going to tell you the truth: She wanted it to happen, if you saw how her tweets escalated this weekend".

Actress Minnie Driver tweeted: "So proud of @ABCNetwork for having the ethical compunction to cancel #Rosanne despite the show's huge numbers".

"I would rather say nothing than to cause more trouble", the 65-year-old explained. Earlier this month, Fox picked up "Last Man Standing", a sitcom starring Tim Allen, a Republican, that ABC canceled previous year."Roseanne self-destructed and said something that anyone would agree is inappropriate", Van Dreal says.

In a reply to one of her fans, she said "I honestly thought she was Jewish and Persian-ignorant of me for sure, but.i did".
