Warriors sweep Cavs to cement dynasty as LeBron ponders future

Their 108-85 victory in game four on Friday sealed a series sweep, as the best from the West lifted the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy once again. But when the third quarter arrived June 8, their effort appeared exhausted.

"He told us at the beginning of the year, all that we have to go through". I had emotions of you just don't get opportunities like this on the road, versus Golden State, to be able to get a Game 1. "We had some early on, but we made the trades..."

"This was the hardest one we've had by far", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "It was definitely the toughest from the standpoint that it's the fourth year in a row that we've attempted to get back to the finals". And now, the National Basketball Association off-season or "The Summer of Lebron" officially begins.

But there is history with the Cavaliers, who won the 2016 championship with James leading the way.

According to Sports Media Watch, the game drew an overnight television rating on ABC of just 11.2, the lowest single-game mark of the four consecutive Finals between these two squads. "Very emotional. For a lot of different reasons", James said. Has LeBron James played his last game in a Cavs uniform? He finished the night with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

Cleveland can't jump wildly into the free-agent pool, as the organization is now $38.5 million over the salary cap for the 2018-2019 season, according to Sportrac (and that's assuming James plays for at least his $35 million option).

"I twisted it pretty good", James said. "My family is a huge part of whatever I'll decide to do in my career".

But such is James' talent, World Peace would not be surprised to see the likes of Houston Rockets' MVP candidate Harden or NBA Finals MVP Durant shifted to make room for him. I've always said that. "From five years ago until now, it seems like he's ten times better, because he's added so much skill to his game". After Game 4, James was asked about his future and he said he had no idea at this point.

Sitting there, bags of ice on his knees, James looked as though the miles of 15 seasons had caught up to him.

As he faded, so too did his teammates - with ESPN commentator Mark Jackson lamenting the lack of effort as the Warriors snatched repeated offensive rebounds. But the Warriors used a late burst to push their advantage back to nine points at halftime, and the Cavaliers never got closer.

Additionally, Love had his best shooting season with the Cavaliers, knocking down 45.8 percent of his attempts from the field and 41.5 percent from three-point range.
