Royals release new photos to mark Prince Louis' christening

Louis, 12 weeks old today, slept through the entire ceremony but here he has opened his eyes as his mother stands in the gardens of Clarence House.

As Kate chatted to the archbishop while holding Louis, she could be heard describing her sleeping son as "very relaxed and peaceful".

Louis was sound asleep as he was carried into the Chapel Royal by Kate for the christening ceremony which lasted 40 minutes.

William and Kate were joined at the event by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. A portrait of the monarch appears in the background.

After nearly a week of waiting, Prince Louis's official christening photos are finally here.

But by 2008 it was clear the gown was becoming delicate and the Queen's senior dresser Angela Kelly ran up a hand-made replica in order to preserve the original. The Duke of Cambridge looked dapper in his blue suit and tie.

Also attending were Kate's parents, her brother and sister and Louis' six godparents, who are close friends or relatives of William and Kate.

In the photo, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, holds Prince Louis as they pose with Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge; Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Prince Louis' whole family gathered for his christening photoshoot. Prince George's christening photos were taken by Jason Bell on October 23, 2013 in the Morning Room at Clarence House.

Mr Holyoak said: 'Everyone was so relaxed and in such good spirits, it was an absolute pleasure. "I only hope I have captured some of that joy in my photographs", Holyoak told The Daily Mail.

The family was beaming as they celebrated their new member.

Two years later, Mario Testino - a favourite photographer of the late Princess Diana - stepped behind the lens for Princess Charlotte's christening.
