Alisson Becker to wear number 13 on Liverpool debut

Alisson Becker to wear number 13 on Liverpool debut

The news comes after reports claimed Alisson had decided not to take the number one jersey at Liverpool out of respect for Karius, whom he was brought in to replace as the starting goalkeeper.

The Brazilian goalkeeper, the most expensive 'keeper in history, is undoubtedly a significant upgrade on both Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.

Liverpool FC started their summer spending with the £39m addition of Brazil global Fabinho from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.

'Step by step, they are all coming back and it's the best news'.

Klopp who is now with the squad in France said all their summer signings, Alisson Becker, Fabinho, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri will get to know their new surroundings before their league opener against West Ham United five days later.

England worldwide Lallana is eager for the strengthened club to win silverware having come close on several occasions, as Liverpool have lost the Champions League, Europa League, and League Cup finals since Jürgen Klopp took charge in 2015.

Alisson is set to make his Liverpool debut in a pre-season clash against Napoli on Saturday (kick-off 6pm).

They haven't lost any stars either, but it's the old reliables of James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum who have put the Reds ahead in the early going at the Aviva.

The interplay between the front-three was also impressive.

Roberto Firmino joined up with Liverpool's training camp in Evian-les-Bains, France.

Liverpool look ready for the start of the season. Liverpool's last was the League Cup triumph, way back in February 2012.

Forwards Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will be looking to get further pre-season minutes under their belt, alongside fellow first teamers Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson. Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno, two players many expected to be on their way out of Anfield this summer, took their goals very well when they came on after the break.
