Cottagers sign Vietto on loan from Atletico Madrid

Luciano VIETTO has joined Fulham while Federico FERNANDEZ is off to Newcastle United.

Argentine striker Vietto, also 24, has struggled at Atletico since his €20 million move from Villarreal in 2015, scoring just one La Liga goal in 25 games with similarly disappointing spells loan at Sevilla (six goals in 21 league games) and Valencia (two in 14).

"I am thrilled that I have the support of the owners, who believe that I am the right man to help this club move forward and I will do everything I can to make that happen".

"I'm very happy, very happy to have signed for the oldest club in the Premier League", said the player.

New Crystal Palace signing Jordan Ayew joined his Ghana global teammate Jeffery Schlupp on his first day of training ahead of the season opener against Fulham. "I'm very excited to get started with the team tomorrow", he told the club's official website. "I hope to do as well as possible".

In the 2016/17 campaign, Vietto played for Sevilla and previous year he played the second half of the season for Valencia.

The Netherlands global, who has made 21 senior appearances for United since his debut under Louis van Gaal in 2016, played 24 games for Palace last season. FERNANDEZ, now 29 years old, played 30 times for his club last season but couldn't prevent them from being relegated to the Championship.
