Trump Now Says 'Collusion Is Not A Crime'

Trump and Giuliani's views of Cohen have soured recent weeks, especially after it was revealed that several audio recordings between the President and his former confidant were among evidence produced from the raids.

US President Donald Trump renewed claims on Sunday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has "conflicts of interest" that should bar him from probing Russian interference in the 2016 election, saying the pair had a business relationship.

The former NY mayor said if Trump is interviewed by Mueller's legal team, "Our real concern is they're going to set up a perjury trap", attempting to catch Trump, who often misstates facts, in a lie, which is a criminal offense.

"I have been sitting here looking in the federal code, trying to find collusion as a crime", Giuliani said on "Fox & Friends " on Monday.

"You start analysing the crime, the hacking is the crime".

USA intelligence agencies concluded in 2017 that Moscow meddled in the 2016 presidential campaign to try to tip the vote in Trump's favour.

Mueller is investigating whether Trump campaign officials worked with Moscow to try to sway the 2016 US presidential election.

Trump has denied that the campaign worked with Russian Federation to try to engineer his victory against Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and bristles at the suggestion he might owe his White House victory to Moscow.

In April, former FBI Director James Comey acknowledged collusion "is not actually a thing that exists under the federal laws of the United States". He said Trump has done nothing to impede the investigation.

The tweets came just over a week after the Justice Department released documents related to secret surveillance warrants obtained on Carter Page, a former adviser to Trump's campaign, the Hill magazine reported.

Mr Trump has called the probe - which also seeks to determine whether his campaign team colluded with Russian Federation and whether he obstructed justice - a "witch hunt" and repeatedly demanded it be ended. My favorite is when he was comparing the Cohen and Mueller beef with President Trump to the Kennedy assassination and when Julius Caesar was killed - no hyperbole at all. Those sources would not say how long the Trump team's lawyers would take to respond.

Ethics experts from the Justice Department determined previous year when Mueller was appointed special counsel that his participation in the matters assigned to him is appropriate.

Giuliani said that he believes they managed to "shut it down" and help kill the story, and speculated the journalists had also found other reasons not to run the item. "Therefore, the witch hunt is an illegal scam", Mr Trump said.

"You've forfeited your law license, as far as I'm concerned", Giuliani said.

Durbin added that the country has to wait for Mueller's investigation to be completed to know for sure. I have a good idea.
