Klopp bemused by Neville's Champions League advice

Earlier in the week Gary Neville had suggested that Liverpool should sacrifice their Champions League ambitions in order to focus on their Premier League campaign, but Morrison disagreed.

"Just one, and I think it's Liverpool", Morrison told Yahoo Sport's The Football Show.

Speaking to The Times ahead of Liverpool's game against Tottenham Hotspur, Neville said, "The Champions League - if I was Liverpool, I would kick it into touch".

Kane was locked in a battle with Salah for the Premier League Golden Boot last season, with the Egyptian coming out on top after scoring 32 goals to the England striker's 30. They are one of the best counter-attacking teams in Europe. That's too complicated; you have to go into the next game and see who you can choose.

Wijnaldum performs a very specific role for Liverpool but he could have been doing that for Spurs if not for the Merseyside club's promptness two years ago.

"From now on we have one day to train, one day to rest, one day to play".

"Sometimes it takes more time, sometimes a bit less but from my point of view it is all fine but I know the situation is not like a few people would have expected". "We have seen that we can do it", Klopp said.

"I fancy Liverpool based on the counter-attack game".

'But all I can tell you as a player is I am happy when a player like Virgil [van Dijk] signs and walks into the dressing room because then you think, "yeah, we can really achieve something with this team".

"Also Pep will be going for it. Man City will be going for the Premier League, trying to win it twice in a row, and they will be trying to win the Champions League".

"Mauricio Pochettino has the same issue to get ready for the game tomorrow, that's how it is". I can only say we hope to do it.

"The plan was - and is still - he will make us better and that is what we are working on".

"But on the other side we still knew we had a good team". After a big win over Manchester United, Tottenham's latest result was a 2-1 loss to Watford.
