Sane omission shows no player safe at Man City, says Jesus

A number of Manchester City players are reportedly concerned that they could lose their places in Pep Guardiola's side after seeing Leroy Sane fall out of favour with the manager.

With the former Schalke star having played just 30 minutes of Premier League football so far this season, Guardiola caused quite a stir when he left the 22-year-old out of his matchday side for City's 2-1 win over Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Germany global - who also controversially missed out on a place at the World Cup this summer - was left out of the squad entirely for City's 2-1 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday.

"It's normal with this fantastic squad", Jesus said.

"I was so sad with Phil, as I am with Leroy now".

"We have six strikers and I chose to play with two strikers, we have two wingers plus another one on the bench". In the next games, he will be ready to play.

Sané cut a frustrated figure in the stands at the Etihad on Saturday but Guardiola responded with a simple "yes" when asked after the game if he was completely happy with Sané's attitude, on and off the pitch. He was not precise but he tried.

City posted a Premier League record 100 points last season but have made the same start in the current campaign, with 10 from their opening four fixtures, only to trail Liverpool and Chelsea.

Sane will join up with Germany this week after being recalled following his omission from the World Cup squad. "The most important part is that, as a group, we're sticking to our plan and we're sticking together".
