Seahawks' Clark: Trubisky 'nothing special'

Seahawks' Clark: Trubisky 'nothing special'

The Bears' first game at Soldier Field in the Matt Nagy era proved that. "When you're hungry for quarterbacks, you've got a ..."

But the Bears were close in that one.

How would you characterize the run game? Zach Miller, the Bears tight end who is recovering from a life-threatening knee injury, was wearing a brand-new shirt printed with the words, "Mitch Please".

The Bears presented longtime linebacker Brian Urlacher with his Ring of Excellence for being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The Seahawks' lead running back vanished from the rushing attack, the offense and the game for the entire second half of Seattle's 24-17 loss at Chicago Monday night.

They come off a 24-17 Monday Night Football victory over the Seattle Seahawks but started the season being victimized by Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who shook off an injury and led the Packers to a 24-23 win thanks to three fourth-quarter touchdowns. But the Bears couldn't break through vertically. Tom did a great job for us. I felt like he had a little bit of help.

"But what's real behind that is what I just said". "That being said, I plan on doing the most with it".

"I thought his footwork was better today, not as much eyes at the line of scrimmage", Nagy said.

"He was a little gassed from working on special teams and helping us", Carroll said of Carson.

Trubisky completed 25 of 34 passes and was intercepted twice. "There was a couple plays when we ran routes (and) we're trying to get the ball well down the field and (Bears defenders) are sitting back waiting... and (receivers) get covered up". Wright - two of Seattle's best remaining defensive players - as well as a third starter in cornerback Tre Flowers. His next throw, an underthrown deep ball intended for Allen Robinson, was picked off by cornerback Shaquill Griffin. Just got to be sharper in everything that I do.

Well guess what? You're going to have to keep waiting. "Coach keeps saying, 'It is going to be a process.' We want immediate results, but finding ways to win is very important, and we did that".

You get the sense that Trubisky is aware of the scrutiny.

This game doesn't suggest it will be a high-scoring affair, at least with what we've seen so far in the first two weeks of the season. That omission was noted by many Bears fans and media members. That, of course, depends in large part on the QB launching.

"I didn't read it right", he said on his weekly radio show on ESPN 710 Tuesday morning.

Wilson got sacked five times in the first half on Monday night and the Seahawks' offense entered the fourth quarter with only three points. But, while Mahomes is in the same offense as a year ago, Trubisky is operating an entirely new scheme.

Not even Clark doubts Trubisky's potential. And good coaching from defensive coordinator Ken Norton, Jr. "I feel like he has the tools to be a great quarterback one day-he has the feet, he has the escapability".

Big Blue's defense, on the other hand, is playing well. We need to get rid of the ball and just give up on a play because it's not happening and not take an additional pressure. The comparison between Trubisky and Mahomes is more relevant because they play in similar offenses.

He played 19 snaps, of the offense's 66. The first-round draft choice this spring is averaging just 2.2 yards per rush. They are both invested in making their partnership work. You have one guy that has had plenty of time now to learn it, and when I say plenty of time trust me, he's (Mahomes) learning this thing, too, so he's just had an extra year to go through it.

With a defense playing like this, it becomes a little more hard to stay patient while waiting for that future to arrive.
