West Ham enact textbook containment job on Eden Hazard and Chelsea

West Ham enact textbook containment job on Eden Hazard and Chelsea

We need more movement without the ball.

It was another poor weekend for Manchester United, though, as they lost more ground in a draw at Wolves, while Tottenham bounced back to win at Brighton and Arsenal won for a fifth straight game against Everton.

But the former Napoli boss warned: "As you know, for an English team, it is very hard to play in the Europa League with the Premier League rules". In the last two or three matches, we have done very well.

The visitors had 72 percent possession at the London Stadium but failed to create many clear-cut chances and had to deal with West Ham's constant threat on the break. I want to see the picture of the situation tomorrow morning in the training session. After seven matches it is hard in March and April, not now.

"I think we played a good tactical game as we allowed them to have the ball but near our box we defended well and we got our first clean sheet".

Sarri admitted it is impossible to win every match following the frustrating draw in the London derby.

Andriy Yarmolenko had the best chance of the match with 13 minutes to go but he headed wide from six yards out from a Robert Snodgrass cross, while Ross Barkley's stoppage-time shot was well saved by Fabianski.

"For an English team, it is very hard to play in the Europa League with the Premier League rules", the 59-year-old added. "Hazard in the last 25 minutes did very well, more on the right than the left, but it was very hard for the striker and the two wingers".

It's not hard to imagine Sarri's high defensive line being torn to shreds, particularly if Rudiger's injury deprives the Blues of all recovery speed.

Before then the two sides will face off in the third round of the Carabao Cup at Anfield on Wednesday, and Sarri is not sure how much he will rotate his team.

'They are a step forward of us at this moment, ' said Sarri when asked about Liverpool. Now, really, I don't know.

Fowler said: "The one problem I can foresee is that he will eventually get frustrated at being played out on the left, in a role that isn't quite central to the team".

'We are trying to have him back for the end of the week, but I don't know at the moment'.
