LeBron James: First Lakers Win 'Feels Great'

During the pre-game warm-ups before their duel with the Denver Nuggets, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers was making it rain from downtown - right at Stephen Curry range.

But it was Stephenson who hit a pair of big-time 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, sparking a Lakers comeback that led to a 121-114 win over previously unbeaten Denver.

"It feels great", he said.

The visitors were without Rajon Rondo and Brandon Ingram, who are serving bans for their part in a brawl during defeat by the Houston Rockets on Sunday.

Rondo's three-game suspension is now complete, while Ingram has one more game remaining on his four-game suspension.

James was in a deferential mood for most of the night, but still finished with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, marking the first triple double of his Lakers tenure and the 74 of his career.

Bryant watched the Lakers erase an eight-point fourth-quarter deficit with a 15-2 blitz in just over three minutes.

"That is what we keep harping on". The compact guard finished last season with the Lakers, averaging 15.6 points in 17 games after getting traded by James' Cavaliers.

Los Angeles clobbered the Phoenix Suns 131-113.

"Our defence picked up", Lakers coach Luke Walton said.

"We just came out on the short end today, but we've got a couple of days off to revamp ourselves", said Morris, who added seven assists in just his eighth National Basketball Association game. "We need to start games with the same mentality that we started the second quarter".

"In the first quarter we had a defensive presence", Suns coach Igor Kokoskov said.

It's still early in the season, but the Suns are averaging the second-most passes per game (through October 23) after passing the ball better than just eight teams past year. "We were talking about this morning that we're not buying in their record right now. But I'm not pleased with any part of game, including defence".

From the clip, James casually drained three shots in a row near midcourt. Lakers have won four straight in Phoenix after losing 11 in a row there.

It took five years for JaVale to score 20 points in a game, but just one day to reach 21. Kokoskov has already changed that in a big way through the first few games of his tenure on the bench, as the new-look Phoenix attack has been far more democratically than the 2017-18 version. James missed a 3 the first time and drove for a layup, which rimmed out, on the second.
