Trump Says Warren Being 'slammed' over DNA Test

That's the inescapable conclusion from Sen.

President Donald Trump has lobbed racist "Pocahontas" insults at Warren for years, and he dismissed the results as phony after she released a political ad about the DNA test.

Warren said last month she would take a "hard look" at running for president against Trump in 2020, and her aggressive move to put her ancestry controversy behind her seemed to be another sign she will take the plunge. He tweeted about it three times Tuesday morning alone. "Now that her claims of being of Indian heritage have turned out to be a scam and a lie, Elizabeth Warren should apologize for perpetrating this fraud against the American Public", he tweeted.

Warren's campaign staff didn't have documentation on hand.

For her part, Warren has never claimed any tribal membership and says she respects the distinction.

She was noted telling a crowd in her constituency of MA she was taking a "hard look at running for president" in two years time.

"Pocahontas (the bad version), sometimes referred to as Elizabeth Warren, is getting slammed".

Warren had actually been identifying as a minority for almost a decade in an official national law school directory, the Association of American Law Schools desk book.

Trump also claimed that Warren would not have been hired as a Harvard law professor if not for claiming to be a "person of color". It was a statistic the paper argued was probably reported by Warren herself to the school.

Warren first faced scrutiny for her purported Native American heritage during her 2012 Senate race. So is claiming to be a legitimate candidate for Senate when one is not. Warren was trying to unseat Sen.

She will be a candidate for MA when the November 6 elections roll around this year.

Brown's campaign pounced on this, but they arguably overplayed their hand. "I have a feeling she will say no but we will hold it for the debates".

"I'll only do it if I can test her personally", he said.

Then, two Republican staffers handed Warren a political gift by doing tomahawk chops at a rally, and the story shifted to how Brown should condemn that kind of behavior.

That erosion, TallBear said Monday on Twitter, has been long-standing. Even they don't want her.

Why this is a big deal now: Because Trump hasn't let it go.

If you're like most people, a sliver of Native American coding in your DNA is no more than a colorful bit of family trivia. On Monday, Trump first denied ever making such a promise.

"Using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong", he said Monday. "She took a bogus DNA test and it showed that she may be 1/1024, far less than the average American". The unanswered question is how this will play out for Warren now that she, too, has elevated it.
