Tua Tagovailoa opened Alabama's game vs. Arkansas with a flawless stat line

It's the second straight year the Crimson Tide have scored on their first play against the Razorbacks and once again they were off to the races in a 65-31 blowout Saturday at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

"We now have five defensive players who are out for an extended period of time that were starters in the two-deep, and three of those guys are defensive backs" Saban said.

Alabama generated 639 yards of total offense.

Cole Kelley threw a 3-yard touchdown to Cheyenne O'Grady, his second of the game.

Tagovailoa fired four first-half touchdown passes, going 10-of-12 overall. He made a sliding catch on Ty Storey's rollout pass for a 17-yard touchdown with 8:58 left in the game.

Perhaps the costliest turnover came when Arkansas, after falling behind 21-0, was able to get on the scoreboard late in the first quarter and had just gotten the ball back when the Razorback defense stopped Alabama on a fourth-and-1 running play at its own 43.

Alabama receiver Jerry Jeudy looked like the fastest player on the field as he caught 4 passes for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Alabama increased its national lead in touchdown drives of less than two minutes by adding four scores fitting that description against the Razorbacks.

Alabama built leads of 21-0 and 34-14. On the first, Arkansas cornerback Ryan Pulley stripped tight end Irv Smith after a 47-yard gain to the 12. The drive, beginning at the 22-yard line, was set up by a 78-yard punt return from De'Vion Warren.

With some signs of progress being shown since the Razorbacks' last appearance in Fayetteville, the infamous loss to North Texas, Morris believes it's a matter of time before Arkansas can translate that progress into some wins.

If you don't have speed then you're chasing speed, Morris said that day.

Arkansas' 31 points marks the most points an opponent has scored against Alabama since they lost 35-31 to Clemson in the College Football Playoff title game at the end of the 2016 season.
