Clemson in 4th playoff draws Notre Dame in Cotton Bowl

The same thing happened this year.

This is Clemson's fourth consecutive College Football Playoff berth.

It's deja vu all over again for White and the Knights.

Texas' loss wasn't as heartbreaking in the Big 12 Championship, but they too squandered opportunities and blew an early lead. Heisman favorite Tua Tagovailoa, who reportedly had ankle surgery after getting hurt against Georgia, could be back in about two weeks. "A great young quarterback", Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly told ESPN. No one factor is more important than another, and this year, the difference between 4, 5 and 6 was very close. The Sooners leaped over Georgia, who lost to Alabama in the SEC Championship.

On Sunday, the College Football Playoff committee made its decision regarding what four teams would make it to the Playoff on December 29. The No. 4 Sooners will be tasked with trying to solve the best team in the nation when they take on the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide in the Orange Bowl.

Although technically the Cotton Bowl Classic, the game will be played at AT&T Stadium - commonly referred to as "Jerry World", after Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones; the stadium has been home to the Cowboys since 2009 following the destruction of the Texas Stadium.

Pitt played a back-and-forth game with the Irish when the two teams met in South Bend, Ind. on October 13.

Terry Bowden raised Akron's profile, made the Zips competitive and led them to bowl games over seven seasons. The Irish won the first meeting in 1977, while the Tigers won in 1979 and 2015. To claim that a two-loss Georgia team is incomparably better than either Oklahoma or Ohio State (12-1) makes no sense.

UAB defeated Middle Tennessee 27-25 on Saturday in the C-USA title game.

Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame are unbeaten locks.

The College Football Playoff selection committee released its final rankings heading into bowl season on Sunday, which pegged Oklahoma as the final team to get in over Georgia and Ohio State. The winners of these semifinal games will clash in the National Championship on January 7th at Levi's Stadium.

Ohio State is in the Big Ten where Frost now coaches, and the Buckeyes were ranked No. 6 in the final CFP rankings. After the Sooners beat Texas on Saturday to avenge their only loss, the Bulldogs lost a dramatic Southeastern Conference title game to Alabama and the Buckeyes beat Northwestern for the Big Ten title.
