Inter fan dies, Napoli fans stabbed after pre-match clashes

The game was marred by racist chanting towards Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, with the away side asking for the match to be halted after the 27-year-old Senegalese worldwide was repeatedly subjected to monkey noises.

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has come out in support of Koulibaly by posting a picture of the two of them in action during this season's clash in Turin.

An Italian football supporter has died of his injuries after being knocked down by a van amid violence ahead of a match in Milan against Napoli.

Koulibaly was sent off during the game after sarcastically applauding the referee's decision to book him for an innocuous coming together with Matteo Politano.

Napoli's Senegalese center back, Kalidou Koulibaly was the victim of racist chants and sounds from the stands of San Siro.

Ancelotti claimed there were three separate warnings issued in the stadium but that the abuse continued regardless.

While Ronaldo has shown plenty of support for Koulibay off the pitch, the two are close rivals on it. Ronaldo's Juventus is now sitting on top of the Serie A table with 50 points, 9 ahead of Koulibaly's Napoli. Koulibaly was always said to be Jose Mourinho's No.1 target for United but the Serie A side were looking for around £90million for the leading defender in the football.

And Milan's mayor has now given his support to the temporary stadium ban, while agreeing with Italian Football Federation's (FIGC) call not to suspend Serie A.

"I'm sorry about the defeat and especially to have left my brothers!"

"The task of the state must be to curb it, but we also have government representatives who incite racial discrimination, divisions based on skin colour and geographical origin".

A last minute goal from Lautaro Martinez eventually gave Inter a 1-0 win in the 91st minute. [Proud] to be French, Senegalese, Neapolitan: "a man".

Two arrests have been made and the police are seeking a third suspect as the fan, identified by police as 35-year-old Daniele Belardinelli, was killed after being hit by a van close to the San Siro on Wednesday night.
