‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’ Is the Fastest Selling Nintendo Switch Game

We are thrilled to see such a strong reaction from consumers in the second holiday season for Nintendo Switch. This is the fastest selling Switch game and the fastest selling Super Smash Bros. game throughout the history of the franchise. In the past year they also highlight a "105% growth" of eShop sales over 2017, a sales push of four million for Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch), 4.7m for Super Mario Odyssey and five million for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - behold, the power of Mario Kart. "We're looking forward to delivering more excitement and smiles to our fans in the coming year and beyond". Super Smash Bros Ultimate is also the fastest selling game on the Nintendo eShop. These numbers makes Smash Bros.

The good news extends to the Nintendo Switch, which is the fastest-selling video game system this generation in the U.S.

It's been another huge year for Nintendo and it looks like there's absolutely no plans to slow down in 2019. By comparison, the PlayStation 4 sold 30 million units in the 24 months after its launch, according to Sony. Nintendo said that since the system's launch in March 2017 to November 2018, Nintendo sold more than 8.7 million units. The more recent Super Mario Party stands at 1.4 million and Pokémon: Let's Go a total of 2 million. Total sales over the game's first three days were nearly 30 percent higher than for Mario Kart Wii, which ended up shipping more than 37 million copies worldwide.

Nintendo hardware unit and dollar sales for 2018 are at their highest annual totals since 2011.

Not only is the Switch selling faster than the Xbox One or PS4 in America, but Smash Bros. Ultimate for Switch, so it's the ideal time for PDP to launch a line of wired fight pads styled after some of Nintendo's most recognizable characters.
