Allonzo Trier turns in career-high 31 points for Knicks

Eric Gordon made the go-ahead 3-pointer with 9.8 seconds left when Houston couldn't get the ball to Harden, the NBA's leading scorer who earlier had moved past Wilt Chamberlain into fourth place in National Basketball Association history with his 21st consecutive 30-point game.

And on Wednesday night, Harden added yet another piece of history to this scoring streak. Harden scored 19 points in the first nine minutes and notched 36 by halftime to extend his 30-point streak to 21 games.

Not at all. They were led by Allonzo Trier's career-high 31 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, reverting to the old player fans recognized before a hamstring injury.

Knicks coach Fizdale heaped praise on Harden's all-round contribution to the Rockets victory after the final buzzer. Just get the (bleep) out of his way. But, when this potential two-time MVP just thrashes NY from start to finish, clearly as the best player on the floor that receives foul calls at will, there's only so much that can be done.

He secured the win when the Knicks turned over the ball with five seconds remaining, scoring a lay-up as Houston cemented their position on top of the Southwest Division. We're all competitors. I want to play basketball. "We got five turnovers out of him".

But for Fizdale, he claims he doesn't understand why it happened.

"I felt like any time the ball is in his hands, it has a chance to go, " Fizdale said.

"I wasn't necessarily upset, I was into the game and battling for my guys".

As he did all night, Harden got fouled - 30 feet from the basket - by Hardaway. "He's got good grasp of the offense", D'Antoni said. "The whole league knows I am always with my teammates". I felt like I was right on the ones I disputed.

A day after saying he hadn't yet experienced his Madison Square Garden moment, Harden finished 17 of 38 from the floor.

He was more consistent from the free-throw line, dropping 22-of-25 attempts. The Knicks visit the Brooklyn Nets on Friday.
