Jazz interested in Grizzlies star Mike Conley

The reason the Clippers might be hesitant to trade for Gasol is that he has a player option for $25.6 million next season.

It's not yet known what Utah would be able to offer outside of draft assets for Conley. Well, if prior trades are any indication, the team to get Conley is going to have to give up quite a bit.

The trade talks don't make sense to him because Conley is involved in the trade. They should've moved Conley and Gasol when they could've actually got something solid in return - rather than at the eleventh hour. Although he has no timetable to return, his contributions to the team since the Butler trade make him an attractive trade candidate. They're now on a six-game losing streak and have lost 12 of their last 13 games but they will look to turn things around on Wednesday night when they host the Hornets (8 p.m. ET - Watch on FuboTV with NBA League Pass add-on).

Marc Gasol is still capable of competing with the top centers in the league.

Perhaps the most realistic trade contender is Covington, who is easy to overlook after having spent the last month sidelined with a right knee bone bruise.

Admittedly, it would be entertaining to see Marc and Pau traded for one another again under very different circumstances.

Gasol was absorb all of Gortat's minutes if the Clippers were to acquire him, which would give Doc Rivers 48 minutes of quality centre play. Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge wouldn't exactly be a mobile pairing, but would certainly create problems for opposing defenses.

The building was evacuated at 5 p.m. after about a dozen firetrucks showed up to deal with the fire, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal. At a glance, there just aren't a ton of teams that should be leaping to add a guy like him on a contract that significant. So, it probably wouldn't take much more than a draft pick and equal salary coming back to the Grizzlies to strike a deal. Both teams are at a crossroads, and both appear to want to go different directions. The guard has $22.4 million of his $34.5 million salary guaranteed, with the balance becoming fully protected if he plays in 55 games this season.

In theory, the two weakest positions in the Spurs' starting lineup are point guard and center, so many pundits are wondering whether San Antonio would be a logical landing place for either of the two faces of the Grizzlies' franchise. "What I feel inside and how I feel about Memphis and its people has nothing to do with a franchise or a temporary thing". The trade deadline is February 7.
