Patrick McCaw plans to sign with Raptors

Patrick McCaw seems to have found a new home - for the second time in fewer than two weeks.

According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the National Basketball Association is investigating Cleveland's move to essentially free McCaw from restricted free agent purgatory with Golden State only to cut him right after, something that isn't expected to hold up his signing with Toronto.

The 23-year-old was most recently waived by the Cavs earlier this week after signing a non-guaranteed 2-year, $6 million deal.

The Warriors ultimately declined to match the offer sheet McCaw signed with Cleveland.

Free agent guard Patrick McCaw plans to sign with the Toronto Raptors, according to reports from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN and Shams Charania of The Athletic.

McCaw averaged 4.0 points, 1.4 assists and 1.4 rebounds per game on a stacked Warriors team last season before suffering a scary looking injury in March.

McCaw began the season as an unsigned, restricted free agent with the Warriors.

After waiving McCaw, the Cavs, who are now dealing with several injuries, went out and signed point guard Cameron Payne to shore up their ranks at the point guard position.

The Golden State Warriors reportedly asked the league to investigate the Cleveland Cavaliers' signing and waiving of McCaw, who reportedly signed with the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday. After clearing waivers, McCaw chose to join the Raptors for a deal worth only $786,000. McKinnie played in 14 games for Toronto last season, and his Warriors contract became guaranteed Monday.

It's surely been a whirlwind couple days for McCaw.
