Rashford and De Gea keep up ideal Man Utd run

Rashford, who is now being prefered to Belgian global Romelu Lukaku up front, turned in another impressive performance for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday as United won 1-0 against Tottenham Hotspur.

Yesterday's encounter between the two bookmakers' favourites to permanently succeed Jose Mourinho as Red Devils boss lived up to the billing at Wembley, where Marcus Rashford's sublime strike sealed a 1-0 win against Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs.

And former Liverpool defender Carragher says that is worthy of praise, adding that the 1999 Treble victor has given United their swagger back.

"Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is picking the profile of player Manchester United need and that's players who have the energy to get from box to box quickly and counter-attack with quality", the Sky Sports pundit said on his podcast.

Pogba - who had been linked with a move away if Mourinho had stayed - says a lot of that can be put down to the fact Solskjaer knows the club inside out having played for them and then been on the coaching staff. "It was unbelievable. In football sometimes you deserves to win and don't and other times, you do not and you win".

The ex-United player has won all six of his games in charge since taking over as caretaker manager after the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

Spurs remain in third place, nine points behind leaders Liverpool.

Paul Pogba was missing from training on Wednesday morning in the lead-up to Manchester United's clash with Brighton.

"He's getting the results, he's in the hot-seat at the moment, he's got the chance".

"For three or four years, watching Mourinho's sides, in the big games, Manchester United were terrified going into them thinking they couldn't compete with these other top teams". The midfielder missed the recent FA Cup win over Reading with a minor knee problem but was able to play the full ninety minutes against Tottenham last Sunday.
