Mauricio Pochettino will be without Harry Kane until early March after the Tottenham striker suffered an ankle injury in his side's Premier League defeat to Manchester United.

Tottenham's recent woes have given Manchester United fans reason to believe again though as they have embarked on a six-match winning run in all competitions since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was confirmed as the interim replacement for Jose Mourinho.

Along with missing the second leg of Tottenham's League Cup semifinal against Chelsea next week, Kane will be absent for a Champions League round-of-16 first-leg encounter with Borussia Dortmund on February 13.

"The striker will continue to be monitored by our medical staff as he commences rehabilitation and is expected to return to training in early March". The English national has a history of ankle problems, having been sidelined seven weeks in 2016.

Kane is the co-leader in Premier League goals this season with 14, tied with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mohamed Salah atop the league's scoring chart.

If Kane were to be held out for a significant period of time, he could miss several key fixtures for Tottenham, which is now third in the Premier League standings. Borussia Dortmund will visit on February 13 for the first leg of a UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match.

Spurs' leading man has been in wonderful form this season, and this month became the first player in the club's history to score 20 goals in five consecutive seasons.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder could have a huge role to play over the coming months, especially with teammate Son Heung-Min departing for the Asia Cup.
