De Gea produced a big performance in the second half to keep Tottenham at bay after a staggering 11 saves to prevent Spurs from finding an equaliser.

- David de Gea made 11 saves in this match for Man Utd - only against Arsenal in December 2017 has he ever made more in a Premier League match (14).

Up against Mauricio Pochettino, the favourite to replace Jose Mourinho on a full-time basis at Old Trafford, Solskjaer's team played vibrant football and just about did enough in a match of many chances, with De Gea's display just as important as Marcus Rashford's third goal in as many games.

Following Spurs' defeat this evening at Wembley, the bookies have eased the north London club from 40/1 to 66/1 for the Premier League title, and it would now appear to be a two-horse race for the title with Liverpool and Manchester City set to battle it out for silverware.

What does it mean? "That's where we improve, progress and get more experience".

The England captain appeared to roll his ankle under heavy pressure from Manchester United defender's Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof in the dying stages of today's game, and speaking afterwards, Mauricio Pochettino admitted that he is anxious for the fitness of the England captain.

It can be argued that, although he was impressive, none of the saves De Gea had to make on Sunday were particularly hard.

Rashford's goal came a minute after Sissoko's injury.

De Gea has lauded the atmosphere that Solskjaer has brought to United since he replaced Jose Mourinho late a year ago. The French midfielder, who won United's Player of the Month award for December, has looked a completely different player since Solskjaer's arrival.

- Tottenham have lost consecutive home Premier League games for the first time since May 2015. Maybe one or two of them were uncatchable, but the saves he makes are because he is so in tune with the game.
