You Shall Not Impeach! Sarah Sanders Tackles Tlaib’s Anti-Trump Rant

"It's been pretty intense", Tlaib, D-Mich., told The Associated Press in a brief hallway interview Friday as she reported to the House to face her colleagues. The president drew major applause when telling supporters that rather than politely mention tariffs to Chinese officials, he would prefer to be more direct and say, "Listen, you motherfuckers, we're going to tax you 25%".

Tlaib's defiance flew in the face of Speaker Nancy Pelosi's warning to focus on policies the candidates had promised ahead of the November 6 elections.

In a pair of tweets, former Trump special assistant Boris Epshteyn called Tlaib's comments "disgusting" and "sad".

The drumbeat elicited a response from Trump, who said in a pair of tweets, "They only want to impeach me because they know they can't win in 2020, too much success!"

Jefferson's Quran was also used by Democratic U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison in 2007 when the Minnesota congressman took his own oath of office, according to The Washington Post. And on Thursday night, she showed that she's not afraid to speak her mind on the issue of Donald Trump, and to speak it without self-censoring.

Keeping in-step with the "Palestine" sticky note, Tlaib had Women's March leader and Shariah law supporter Linda Sarsour in attendance at her swearing-in ceremony Thursday.

Tlaib of MI, a Palestinian-American, was one of the first two Muslim women to take her seat in the House - and she shared her heritage proudly.

Even if the House should approve articles of impeachment - very unlikely at present - a two-thirds-majority vote to convict Trump in the Republican-led Senate and remove him from office would seem out of the question, barring new revelations or a dramatic decline in the president's political support.

While Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been hesitant to speak strongly in favor of impeachment, she has not ruled it out. Rep. Brad Sherman, (D-Calif.) re-introduced the articles of impeachment on the first day of the new Congress on January 3.

Trump is pushing back on talk of impeaching him.

If those are the messages that Tlaib is trying to send, then I think the language was quite helpful in conveying that.

"As a kid, I acted as my grandfather's translator at our caucuses, and he was the one who first sparked my interest in politics", Omar said on Twitter.

Sherman and Green pushed to impeach Trump in 2017 and 2018 but the House blocked those resolutions twice, with the help of Democrats who said the effort was premature. "I think it was highly the United States of America".
