Ariana Grande to skip Grammys following disagreement with producers

In fact, her image was used for much of the marketing for the show, which has suffered from its own public relations issues over the past couple of years.

According to a source who spoke with Hits Daily Double, the star apparently felt "insulted" after the Grammys production team disallowed her to sing her trap-inspired single "7 Rings" at the upcoming function.

'I've kept my mouth shut but now you're lying about me. On Friday, she'll release her new album thank u, next. She followed that with "Imagine" and "7 Rings", the latter of which broke Spotify's record for most plays within a 24-hour period. I want to do it on my own terms from now on'.

After some heavy negotiation, they eventually approved of the tune, as long as it was part of a medley songs and they insisted on selecting her second song.

She pointed this out, writing that she: 'passed a Grammy's bus with my face on it typing those [tweets]'.

At this time, however, the Recording Academy and Ariana are yet to confirm the news, so there is still a chance it's just a fake rumor and that fans will be able to see the singer at the awards show on Sunday after all!

"As it turned out when we finally got the point where we thought maybe it would work, she felt it was too late for her to pull something together for sure", Ehrlich told AP.

The same thing happened with Lorde at last years Grammys.

Scheduled performers during the Grammys include Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Brandi Carlile, H.E.R., Dan + Shay, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Post Malone, Shawn Mendes and Janelle Monáe.
