Cavaliers, Kings, Rockets on verge of three-team deal

Barnes has a player option on his $25 million deal for next season.

Houston is sending Brandon Knight and Marquese Chriss to the Cavaliers.

The Houston Rockets have acquired Iman Shumpert in a three-team deal, the Cleveland Cavaliers announced on Thursday.

The Rockets will also send a second-round pick to the Pacers in the deal.

The Cavaliers will send guard Alec Burks to the Kings, and guards Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin to the Rockets, league sources said.

This is the third time Stauskas and Baldwin have been traded in the last week.

He entered the day averaging 17.8 points and 4.3 rebounds a game for Dallas, where he has spent the past two-plus seasons after beginning his pro career with the Golden State Warriors.

They 31-22 Rockets are trying to move into the top four in the West over the second half of the season.

The win saw Houston improve to 32-22, leaving them in 5th spot in the Western Conference playoff race. During one of the darkest seasons in franchise history, the first sign of hope in 2011 was the night the Cavs traded for the lottery pick that eventually became Kyrie Irving. Over his seven-year National Basketball Association career, he has played in 394 games (320 starts) with Detroit, Milwaukee, Phoenix and Houston, holding averages of 14.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 30.6 minutes per game.
