Freezing rain warning issued for Wednesday

Gehrts said another system will bring freezing rain Wednesday afternoon and evening, with a repeat on Thursday.

Areas of drizzle and freezing drizzle are expected to develop across south-central and eastern Kansas tonight. Watch out for icy spots on untreated surfaces.

The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory through 10 am Sunday.

Snow or rain mixed with snow will fall at low elevations of the Pacific Northwest, including around the Seattle and Portland, Oregon, metro areas. "We could see build up on utility lines and tree branches breaking with the weight of the ice".

All the precipitation has prompted a public reminder from the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) about rising levels in lakes, streams, and rivers. Winds will increase at that time and lake effect snow will begin.

Increasing clouds Tuesday with light snow developing toward evening. For those east of the warnings and watches, snow is expected to spread east into the southeast Wyoming Plains into the Panhandle Wednesday morning. Mainly freezing rain along with sleet/ice pellets/snow and even some rain is likely.

For the Lehigh Valley, we'll just see a very rainy night with the highest rainfall amounts perhaps between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

True ice storms are uncommon in this part of the county, the weather service said on Facebook.
