Groundhog Day 2019: Shadow or no shadow?

On Saturday, Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his burrow and did not see his shadow, meaning he predicts spring is near, reported CNN.

During the Prohibition era, Punxsutawney Phil "threatened" to impose 60 more weeks of winter if he wasn't allowed a stiff drink.

Staten Island Chuck is getting all the attention for his early spring forecast, but the furry creature's new congressman had the most to say Saturday morning during the borough's annual Groundhog Day ceremony at the Staten Island Zoo.

We can't wait to find out whether or not Punxsutawney Phil will see his shadow this year!

Spring is coming early in the United States, a groundhog has predicted.

Punxsutawney held its first Groundhog Day in the 1800's. The VR sequel follows Phil Connors Jr., his "charming but arrogant" son, who's trapped in his own time-loop in his hometown of Punxsutawney, a place he thought he escaped.

Meanwhile, in 2017, Phil saw his shadow as well, but February of that year was the second-warmest on record. As Data from the Stormfax Almanac shows, Phil's predictions have been right a whopping 39 percent of the time.

Groundhog Day goes back over a hundred years, and it is one of winter's most wholesome traditions.

The festivities have their origin in a German legend that says if a furry rodent casts a shadow on February 2, winter continues. Just roll with it and celebrate Groundhog Day like a professional with all the facts below.

Groundhog Day has been a movie and a musical, so why not make it a virtual reality game next? He's been able to live so long by drinking from the "elixir of life" which gives him seven more years of life every time he drinks it, and ensures that he'll be able to continue making weather predictions for plenty of years to come! You are forced with repeating the day over and over until you learn the "true value of friends and family".
