Cohen sues Trump Organization, says it owes him almost $2M

After former Trump attorney Michael Cohen's public testimony last week, Democrats on the House Oversight and Reform Committee have another Trump associate on their radar - Allen Weisselberg, the chief financial officer (CFO) of the Trump Organization.

But he did not specify what topics nor suggest that the meetings totaled 10 hours of discussion, according to Fox News sources, who also noted that Cohen seemed extremely prepared for questions about the issues reportedly discussed between the lawyer and Schiff.

The lawsuit was the latest salvo in an escalating feud between Trump and Cohen, who represented Trump for close to a decade and once said that he would "take a bullet" for his client.

"His lawyers said that they went to my lawyers and asked for pardons", Trump said.

"You're getting in trouble because you work for me, you're getting reimbursed", Giuliani said.

The prospect of a pardon for President Donald Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen was raised a few times between Cohen's lawyer and attorneys representing the President, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

Trump repeated his denials that there had been any collusion between his election campaign and Russian Federation. Instead, President Donald Trump's former lawyer will be on Capitol Hill talking about the crimes he is now accusing Trump of committing.

Cohen is headed to prison in May after pleading guilty to campaign finance violations, lying to Congress and other crimes. He's due to report to prison in May.

Most recently, Cohen's attorney said his client regrets his loyalty to President Trump, which is an ironic statement for someone reportedly seeking a pardon.

His lawyer Lanny Davis yesterday also alleged that representatives of the president "dangled" the possibility of a pardon to Cohen past year before Cohen began cooperating with investigators examining Trump's 2016 presidential election campaign and Trump Organization. Trump also plays a central role in a separate case in NY, where prosecutors have implicated him in a crime.

Trump tweeted that Cohen had directly asked him for a presidential pardon.

Cohen cites congressional hearings and the Mueller investigation as examples of his work as well as the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels.

It's also unclear whether any of the president's lawyers knew the truth about when the Trump Tower negotiations had ended. "That continues to be the case", Davis said Wednesday.

Cohen's response came within minutes and featured two references to Trump's "lies".

On Monday, the Democratic-controlled House Judiciary Committee launched a sweeping new investigation into Trump's inner circle, demanding documents from dozens of individuals including the president's sons Don Jr. and Eric and son-in-law Jared Kushner.
