Earl Thomas to sign with Baltimore Ravens

Now, with Ingram on the way out as an unrestricted free agent, the Saints are set to put Minnesota Vikings free agent running back Latavius Murray in his place. Thomas made $10 million a year on his previous contract with Seattle, a four-year, $40 million deal he signed in the spring of 2014.

Thomas wrapped up the final year of his deal with the Seahawks on the injured reserve, the second season-ending injury of his career.

Shortly after the news broke, Thomas tweeted simply "Yeaaaaaaaa!" with emojis of a money bag and praying hands. Thomas' new deal, at an average of $13.75 million, will surpass that. Last season, he caught 22 passes for 141 yards. You have to take the good with the bad when you have a mobile quarterback like Jackson, as he should help you get a bit more yardage, but he's going to drain you where it counts - the goal line. This effectively makes him the 13th-highest-paid running back in the NFL. It's also thought Thomas and the Seahawks never had significant talks on an extension.

Again, fans who have been starving for this move were left feeling empty as Thomas signed with the Baltimore Ravens after Dallas was apparently out due to his price tag.

Thomas becomes the Ravens' splash after they failed to retain star inside linebacker C.J. Mosley, who signed with the Jets on Tuesday.

Maybe the San Francisco 49ers still have a solid chance to land one of the top players on the 2019 National Football League free agency market, six-time Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas. Five years younger than Weddle, Thomas is an established player still in his prime, giving him a chance to be one of the team's defensive leaders for years to come.
