Mane deserves place in Premier League elite - Wijnaldum

Liverpool have avoided defeat in nine straight Premier League contests during their current surge, but have been forced to settle for a draw in four of those outings including each of their past three road contests.

Babel will face his compatriot at Craven Cottage on Sunday as Fulham aim to give themselves a glimmer of hope in the survival battle and dent Liverpool's title bid.

"We had a little bit of consistency in that position with the pairing".

The manager said victory at one of European football's powerhouses, following on from last season's appearance in the Champions League final, confirmed Liverpool's place among the elite in the game. "It looks hopefully not that serious but for tonight we had to change".

Stat: Man City have taken 10 points from the last 4 games between the teams.

"Even we as the Bundesliga forerunners did not do that".

The Reds are still fighting for glory on two fronts this season - they have been drawn to play Porto in the Champions League quarter-finals - but Klopp is unconcerned by talk he must win silverware to be remembered as a success.

"If we want to make up for this, we must identify young and talented players early on". In terms of Premier League goals the diminuitive forward, who plays out wide and not through the middle, has 16 in 29 matches - just two behind leading scorer Sergio Aguero.

"We have been in that situation for a while, it's not that we change our mood constantly, we are focused on the season", he said.

The German champions levelled 13 minutes later against the run of play when winger Serge Gnabry beat his marker and his cutback was turned into the goal by Liverpool defender Joel Matip.

"The best way to do it is bring together a group of players, try to develop them all together and then stay together for a while".

"You can't imagine how less interested I am in that", he told the media when asked about leaving a legacy at Liverpool.

"So they managed to surprise me. So I think really a sad performance from Bayern".

He added: "I'm not interested in who judges me". God judges me one day and that is the only thing I am interested in.

"Why should other people like us?"
