Mesut Ozil shines as Arsenal beat Bournemouth 5-1 in EPL

The hosts took the lead after six minutes in freakish circumstances, Lacazette neatly back-heeling home a pass from Mkhitaryan while the rest of the Arsenal team were still appealing for a penalty after Lucas Torreira took a tumble.

The former Germany worldwide turned provider as Arsenal made it 2-0 through Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but it was his goal that had Gunners legend Ian Wright purring, with the former striker impressed by the technique that he used to score.

These are concerning times for Saints fans, and a lot of them are growing increasingly frustrated both with results, and a player who started the match against Unai Emery's men. After 2-0 their goal can give us a problem but I think we show maturity by continuing to push. I am now also very proud of our players. In a short time, we keep the performance with different players.

Skipper Laurent Koscielny blasted in off the post following a set-piece, then Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang added another when he was given the space to race clear and calmly slot in.

Arsenal made the ideal start when Ozil opened the scoring after four minutes with a lofted left-foot finish which Bournemouth keeper Artur Boruc could not prevent looping in.

'I think it's a very easy thing to say but we're looking at one game at a time.

Bournemouth came close to getting another goal back but Dan Gosling's long-distance shot was deflected onto the crossbar.

'He has three days between Saturday and I hope he will be OK'.

"Today, Chelsea are not playing [in the league], they are playing in the final and we are in the position at the moment and continue with the same idea".

Arsenal have Tottenham in their sights heading into the north London derby, but Carl Jenkinson insists overtaking their arch-rivals is not something the Gunners are thinking about just yet. It's one team that, at the moment, are better than us in the table.

Ozil's opener for Arsenal was his 50th goal involvement in 85 Premier League appearances at Emirates Stadium - 19 goals and 32 assists.
