Trump celebrates North Dakota State football champs with fast food

And, as has become a custom with the Trump White House, a large smorgasbord of fast food was brought in for the team - a long table full of Chick-fil-A and McDonald's.

"I know you people", Trump said to laughter, noting the Clemson precedent and adding, "We like American companies".

The grub came from Chick-fil-A, McDonald's and Domino's, and team members were lauded by the president before they dug in.

North Dakota State has won the FCS national championship seven times in the last eight years.

Many jokes were made in January when Clemson visited the White House to celebrate its national championship victory over Alabama, only to show up to a dinner of various (and likely room temperature) fast food items provided by President Donald Trump.

The president had praise for quarterback Easton Stick, comparing him to Tom Brady. "He's going to be a rich guy".

President Donald Trump received a No. 45 North Dakota State jersey.

The Bison, who had been scheduled to eat lunch during a Monday afternoon visit to the Capitol, were expected to bring a full contingent of players during their Washington visit.

On Saturday, Head Coach Matt Entz of the NDSU Bison told the Grand Forks Herald that the visit was an important morale booster. John Hoeven (R). Klieman did not make the trip.

"He invited us in groups of 20 into the Oval Office for more photo opportunities, and from what I heard from the staff, that doesn't happen very often", Kennelly said. "We have Big Macs, we have Quarter Pounders with cheese, we have everything that I like, that you like", he said.
